and Those Nasty Stray Pixels!
By Kyoht, Wolfhome Art Beta
This tutorial was done on Adobe Photoshop, but should be able to be applied to most other programs. When you set your own transparent background, it guarantees no problems in the uploader.
1. You have a pose with a background. The background MUST be a different color than the rest of the pose.
2. You must change the pose colors to a .gif palette. To do this, go to Image/Mode/Indexed Color. It will ask how to match the palette, either by "Exact," or a list from which to choose from. If you get a list, choose "Adaptive."
3. Now you must change the picture into a transparent .gif. To do this, go to File/Export/Gif89a Export
4. A window will pop up like the one above. Click on the eyedropper tool, and use it to click onto the background area.
The area will turn grey, showing that it is the Transparency Index Color (any areas that is this color will be transparent).
5. Hit OK, and name the pose making sure you keep .gif at the end. And viola! You have a transparent .gif, ready to be uploaded.
But Sometimes...
Pixels are left behind.
To fix this, follow the steps below.
1. Go back to Gif89a Export. Use the Magnifying glass tool and zoom in as far as it will go.
2. Use the eyedropper tool and click on each left over pixel, turning them to the Transparency Index Color (in this case, grey).
3. Use the hand tool to go around the pose's edge, to search for any pixels you may have missed.
4. Hit OK, and there you have it! A nice, clean image ready for uploading.
